About

John Brodie has been a writer, editor, content strategist and brand builder for two decades. His resume includes senior positions at major media, retail and e-commerce companies including Conde Nast, Time Inc., Hachette, J. Crew, American Eagle Outfitters and the Yoox/NET-A-PORTER GROUP.

Before launching the agency, he was the SVP of Content and Strategy at J. Crew and before that the editor-in-chief for mrporter.com, where he was part of the team working with NET-A-PORTER founder Natalie Massenet on the initial editorial plan for the site.

While an Executive Editor at the Hachette Book Group, he commissioned and edited several New York Times bestsellers including Inside Apple by Adam Lashinsky, How Google Works by Eric Schmidt and Dealing With China by former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. He continues working with first time authors, non-authors and seasoned authors who need conceptual help, line-editing, rewriting, structuring and ghostwriting on their books.

The experience of collaborating with some of the world’s best retail companies and the world’s leading thinkers became a master class in how the world’s smartest brands and people promote and position themselves. At Brodie and Partners, we find that these techniques are adaptable to small brands looking to build their profiles or large ones looking to start a new chapter in their company’s story. Whatever your story, we’re here to help you be the best version of yourself.

Many of the beautiful things on this site are the results of collaborations with super-talented colleagues and friends. Thank you to everyone that we’ve been fortunate to work with in the past and continue to work with today.
