About

John Brodie has spent three decades as a writer, editor, content strategist, and brand builder at some of the most respected names in media, retail, and e-commerce — Condé Nast, Time Inc., Hachette, J.Crew, American Eagle Outfitters, and the Yoox/NET-A-PORTER Group.

Before launching the agency, he was SVP of Content and Strategy at J.Crew. Before that, he served as editor-in-chief of mrporter.com, where he worked alongside NET-A-PORTER founder Natalie Massenet to shape the site’s original editorial vision.

As an Executive Editor at the Hachette Book Group, he commissioned and edited several New York Times bestsellers, including Inside Apple by Adam Lashinsky, How Google Works by Eric Schmidt, and Dealing with China by former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. He continues to work with first-time authors, executives, and seasoned writers who need help with conceiving, structuring, line-editing, rewriting, or ghostwriting their books.

Years of collaborating with world-class retailers and leading thinkers became a master class in how the smartest brands and people tell their stories. At Brodie and Partners, we’ve found that these same techniques work equally well for small brands building their profiles and established ones beginning a new chapter.

Whatever your story, we’re here to help you be the best version of yourself.

Many of the beautiful things on this site are the results of collaborations with super-talented colleagues and friends. Thank you to everyone that we’ve been fortunate to work with in the past and continue to work with today.
